Title

Energy Sources

Body

Santa Barbara Clean Energy provides 100% carbon-free electricity to Santa Barbara residents and businesses. This energy is generated from wind, solar, and hydroelectric facilities from California, Washington, British Columbia, and New Mexico.

As a policy, Santa Barbara Clean Energy only purchases bundled renewable energy credits, meaning the electricity we purchase is routed directly to California. This ensures 100% Green customers do in fact receive 100% green energy.

Santa Barbara Clean Energy is committed to providing customers carbon-free and renewable electricity and helping develop new local, renewable energy sources to provide economic and environmental benefits to our customers, our community, and our planet.

Power Content Label

The Power Content Label (PCL) is an annual, state-mandated disclosure document that outlines the specific energy sources and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions intensity associated with the electricity provided to residents and business.

The exact percentage of power coming from various generation types and the emissions generated per unit of electricity supplied by SBCE is outlined in the table below. The PCL also places our energy mix side-by-side with the average power mix for all California retail suppliers so you (our customer) can see how we measure up.
